I'm New

Welcome to Wildwood!

Wildwood is a friendly church. We are a diverse congregation that reflects the fact that God's church is for all people. The crowd often ranges in age from newborn babies (a nursery is available for changing or nursing moms) to those who have seen most of a century pass. Churches of Christ are places where diversified-people of all races and nationalities worship and work together as God's children (Acts 10:34-35).

What To Expect

A typical service will last about 90 minutes. We sing a good mix of contemporary and traditional music that is led by our one of our song leaders. There is childcare available. Plan to hang around after the service for fellowship and meeting new people.

F.A.Q.'s

Where Do I Park?
Visitor Parking - When you enter our parking lot, you will see multiple parking spaces that are identified "VISITOR." These spaces are reserved for visitors and guests and are closest to our main auditorium building. If those spaces are all full, please feel free to park anywhere you wish. If there is not room on the pavement, feel free to park on the grass.

Handicap Parking - There are multiple handicap spots located nearest to the buildings.
What Should I Bring?
Just you and a willingness to worship our Lord! If you have a Bible, bring it! If you do not have one, we will have one that you are welcome to use as our gift to you.
What Should I Wear?
You will see many of our members in "Dress Casual" or even some in suits and ties. But, you will also see some in jeans and a T-shirt. Whatever you feel comfortable in, please feel free to wear that. All we ask is that you be modestly dressed so those in attendance can focus on worshipping God.
Where Do I Go?
If you are coming for one of our Bible class times, come to the main building closest to the intersection of Cleveland Ave and N Gamble St and we will help you find the classes that are appropriate for you and your family.

If you are coming for worship, all of our services take place in the main building in what we call the auditorium. If you will be greeted as you walk in we will gladly show you where to go.
Do You Have A Nursery or Childcare?
We encourage families to bring their children with them so they can see their parents participating in worship and be influenced to participate. We love having children in our worship services and understand that small children make some amount of noise.

We have a nursery provided for those who need changing, feeding, or if you feel your child needs a change of scenery / calming down. Nursing moms, our nursery is not private; we ask that you stay covered in case a man needs to come into the nursery.
Do You Have A Band, Music, or Instruments?
We believe in doing exactly what Jesus said, with the heart He wanted (John 4:24). Because of that, we worship the same way the early Christians worshipped - without any mechanical instruments. That means that everyone sings and takes an active part in our worship services.

But please don't be nervous, we have amazing singers and some not so amazing singers. We are not worried about how you sound, but what your heart is singing to the Lord.

You can find more information about our beliefs / practices in the "About Us" section of our website.
How Can I Become A Member?
Whether you are new to the church or new to the area and would like more information about the Lord's church, or specifically of the congregation here at Wildwood, there is a check box for more info on your Connect Card / visitor's card. If you will be so kind as to mark that area, someone will be in touch with you about the information you need!
Do You Practice Communion / Lord's Supper?
Absolutely! It is the highlight of our worship. This weekly observance is time spent remembering what Jesus did for us on the Cross. This is a vitally important time where Christians remember the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

If you have never experienced the Lord's Supper, it is a time when we gather to eat a small piece of bread that symbolizes Jesus' body that was sacrificed on the Cross and drink a small cup of grape juice which symbolizes the blood that saved us from our sins and past. If you do not feel comfortable taking part in this portion of the worship, just simply pass it along to the next person.
Will I Be Asked to Give Money?
Financial contributions to the work of the local church is something done by the members of that local church (1 Corinthians 16:1-2).

Someone who is yet to become a member of the congregation here at Wildwood is never expected to give money either during the worship collection or otherwise.

If you are a member and would like to give, you may do so online or via our mobile app. Please visit wildwoodcoc.app to get started.
Do You Have Security Measures So My Family Will Be Safe?
Yes. For obvious reasons, we do not publicize those plans and procedures online but we want you and your family to know that you will be safe when attending with our church family. We understand that many are worried about situations, but we are working hard to do everything we can to make sure that everyone who attends here at Wildwood does so in a safe atmosphere. You can expect that there will always be someone monitoring the general security of attendees while services are ongoing.
